COVID-19 Benefits

The COVID-19 federal public health emergency (PHE) ended on May 11, 2023. Please review the following information to understand your COVID-19 benefits with CarePlus.
  1. Does CarePlus cover COVID-19 testing?
    Yes. However, as of May 12, 2023, the amount you will be required to pay for covered COVID-19 benefits – including testing, testing-related services, and treatment – may change. Please call the number on the back of your CarePlus member ID card for more details on changes to COVID-19 coverage requirements beginning that went into effect on May 12, 2023.

  2. Does CarePlus still cover the cost of tests ordered by a physician or other licensed healthcare professional?
    Yes. Like any other tests and services ordered by a physician or other licensed healthcare professional, COVID-19 related testing and services are covered according to your CarePlus plan benefits.

  3. Will CarePlus continue to offer free at-home, OTC COVID-19 tests?
    No. Access to free at-home, OTC COVID-19 tests ended on May 11, 2023.

  4. Does CarePlus cover COVID-19 vaccines?
    Yes. CarePlus Medicare Advantage plans will continue covering the COVID-19 vaccines for members at $0.
