Medicare Savings Programs

These state programs help pay for Medicare premiums. They are for people who have limited income and resources. If you meet certain requirements, they may also help pay for deductibles, coinsurance, and copayments related to Medicare Parts A and B (hospital and medical insurance).

Low-Income Subsidy (LIS), also known as Extra help

If you qualify, this program may help pay for Medicare Part D prescription drug costs such as your premium, deductible, coinsurance, and copayments.

Eligible people may receive different amounts of Extra Help. It depends on your income compared to the Federal Poverty Level and resource limitations set by the Social Security Act.

Supplemental Security Income (SSI) Benefits
