Over-the-Counter (OTC) allowance
In 2025, if you have the CareNeeds Platinum (D-SNP) plan, you will receive a quarterly OTC allowance loaded onto the CarePlus Spending Account Card. Use your allowance to help buy the approved OTC products you may need such as vitamins, allergy relief, cold and flu medicine, and first aid.

This page will be updated on Jan. 1 with benefit details for 2026. You may review your Annual Notice of Changes (ANOC) for upcoming changes. The information below is designed to help members use these benefits in 2025.

You can use this quarterly OTC allowance to buy your choice of approved OTC products. Use the categories below to help you shop. 
With the Healthy Benefits+ mobile app, you can scan items in the store to find out if they are approved.

  • Allergy and sinus 

  • Cold and flu 

  • Dental and oral health 

  • Digestive health 

  • Eye and ear care 

  • First aid 

  • Foot care 

  • Incontinence products 

  • Pain relief 

  • Skin care 

  • Sleep aids 

  • Smoking cessation products 

  • Supports, braces and wraps

  • Vitamins and minerals
Unused amounts will roll over to the next quarter and expire at the end of the plan year on Dec. 31. Amounts also expire if you leave the plan during the year.

The allowance can be used to purchase approved OTC products from:

  • Participating retail stores 

  • Our preferred mail-ordered pharmacy, CenterWell Pharmacy™

In-store:

Visit the HealthyBenefitsPlus+ webpage and use the StoreFinder to find local participating stores. At checkout, ask a sales associate to scan the barcode on the back of your card or swipe your card to use your benefits.

CenterWell Pharmacy: 

For mail-order delivery at no additional cost to you, view and download the OTC catalog and order form from our OTC Products page. Or, to request your order form and catalog by mail, call the number on the back of your Member ID card.

Products may not be available at every location. While shopping at participating retailers, you may pay sales tax on items just as you would normally. Applicable sales tax will be added to the total at checkout according to your state tax regulations. Any feed associated with transactions may be deducted from the available balance. Allowance amounts cannot be combined with other benefit allowances. Limitations and restrictions may apply.

Do not throw away your card. Please store it in a safe place, like your wallet. CarePlus is not responsible for funds lost due to lost or stolen cards. Benefits listed here are part of a Medicare Advantage plan.

Use of Your Card: Your card is not a credit card but may be entered as “credit” to checkout. Usage restrictions apply.
