What’s Your Plan?

For many people, life is a breeze when you’re a child. Your neighborhood was a foreign country to conquer and map. During the summer, you’d head out after breakfast and return home only when street lights turned on. Adulthood seemed far away – so far away that you measured life in milestones: turning 10, becoming a teenager, maybe learning how to drive. You were the captain of your life, and who you would be when you grew up remained somewhere – some when – far away.

You grew up. You planned a career path. You planned summer vacations and dinners with friends. Life just happened. Over time, the plans you made changed; over time, those plans simply become your life, and your life became what you created as a result of your plans.

But nobody plans to age – that’s what most of us say as we age in to Medicare. Aging in means it’s time for a new set of plans. Aging in means researching and selecting a Medicare plan. Aging in means revisiting the shape of your life and determining if it still fits.

Health care should not just happen to you. We can help you take control of your healthcare decisions and choose the plan that’s right for you.

Our FREE Medicare for Dummies book* may help you understand Medicare and your healthcare options. Call a licensed CarePlus sales agent at 1-855-605-6174 (TTY: 711) to request your FREE Medicare for Dummies booklet.*

Medicare Advantage Plans

  • Medicare Advantage plans are part of the Medicare program and must offer all the benefits of Original Medicare. Medicare Advantage plans may include Part D prescription drug coverage and other additional benefits. You may find that your out-of-pocket costs are lower with a Medicare Advantage plan than with Original Medicare.
  • Medicare Advantage plans differ from area to area, even within a state. Check with your healthcare provider(s) and pharmacy (if applicable) to determine if they accept CarePlus; compare costs, like premiums, deductibles, coinsurance, and copayments; and make sure that the Medicare Advantage plan you select is right for you.
  • You may be eligible to enjoy the real advantages of a Medicare Advantage plan. If you have any questions, please call a licensed CarePlus sales agent for answers. 1-855-605-6174 (TTY: 711). From October 1 - March 31, we are open 7 days a week; 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. From April 1 - September 30, we are open Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. You may always leave a voicemail message after hours, Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays and we will return your call within 1 business day.
  • CarePlus offers eligible members access to Medicare Advantage plans. Let us help you, so you can focus on planning what’s next for you.

Medicare Parts A, B, C, and D

Generally speaking, Medicare Advantage plans like the plans CarePlus offer, include more benefits than Original Medicare – such as a ***SilverSneakers® fitness program membership, or dental, hearing, and vision coverage – and may help you save money. Study and learn your ABCs (and Ds!), and if the right answer for you is C, then CarePlus should be top of mind.

Part A = Hospital Insurance. Automatic when you sign up for Medicare. Most people pay no premium.

Part B = Medical Insurance. Helps cover doctor services. You pay a monthly premium.

Parts A + B = Original Medicare.

Part C = Medicare Advantage plans. Consists of Part A+ Part B and may include vision, dental, and other benefits. CarePlus offers these types of plans.

Part D = Prescription Drug Coverage. You may buy Part D coverage as an add-on to Original Medicare (A+B). Many Medicare Advantage plans (Part C), like CarePlus, offer Prescription Drug Coverage as part of their package.

Did you know all CarePlus plans offer ***SilverSneakers®, a fitness program designed exclusively for older adults to help you take greater control of your health?

***Classes and amenities vary by location.

Choosing a Medicare Advantage Prescription Drug Plan (MAPD)

  • DON’T assume all MAPD plans are the same, or that they will not change from year to year.
  • DON’T panic. Medicare may be complicated, but an experienced licensed sales agent can help walk you through it.
  • DO your homework when choosing a health plan. A good source of information is Medicare.gov, the official U.S. government site for Medicare.
  • Make sure the health plan you want to choose covers all prescription drugs you take.
  • Ask your doctor’s office about the Medicare health plan(s) your doctor accepts.
